STEM Mentoring
Individual preparation for the digital SAT Math section.
SAT Math preparation focuses on the mathematical content tested on the digital SAT together with efficient problem solving, calculator use, pacing, and recognition of common question structures. Instruction may address specific weaknesses or provide systematic preparation for the complete Math section. In-person sessions are available in Honolulu and on Oʻahu, with online tutoring throughout Hawaiʻi and nationwide.

Preparation is organized around the four principal mathematical content areas of the SAT:
Linear equations, systems, inequalities, linear functions, and interpretation of relationships represented algebraically, graphically, and in context.
Nonlinear equations and functions, polynomial and rational expressions, quadratic relationships, exponentials, radicals, and manipulation of more advanced algebraic forms.
Ratios, percentages, proportional relationships, probability, statistics, units, and interpretation of tables, graphs, and real-world quantitative information.
Area and volume, angles, triangles, circles, coordinate geometry, right-triangle trigonometry, and relationships among geometric quantities.
Preparation also includes the mechanics of the digital SAT Math section: efficient use of the built-in graphing calculator, deciding when calculator use is advantageous, working under time constraints, and adapting problem-solving methods to the digital testing format.
